These days I paint in many different forms - in the manner of rich images born from real scenery or everyday experiences, or those images themselves, or analytical interpretations of them. The large work (197.3x291.1cm) I exhibit here is closer to that I did before my work diversified like this. The scope of my work expanded as I tried to understand and express the way that perceptions are and also the way that experience is turned into images. But the fact is that parts of it differentiated and became like language.
I painted this large new work with the intention of reacquainting myself with the more integrated way of thinking and perceptive conditions I was under before my work changed.
The other works in the exhibition are closer to the current direction in my work.
Recently I have been thinking about both ways - about the tendency towards differentiation and language - likeness as I try to comprehend perception and image, and about the raw, integrated manner of reality perception and image making that could never be differentiated and made linguistic.
